Martha was born and died in Mulhouse. She never married, and was apparently close to her youngest sister Angélique, according to a letter from their father to Angélique in 1813. She died at her home, Maison Mansbendel, at 17 Rue des Trois Rois, Mulhouse, at about nine in the morning, aged 71.
